HID's install difficulty

i gots another question for yous guys...with HID's how hard is the install...i looked thru SEARCH...but never quite found what i was looking for. I'm assuming the headlight does not get taken apart unless you buy the parts seperately, rite? If you buy a 9006 HID kit, will be relatively painless? Any response is appreciated...

you need new housings for HID's. probably not too hard to install if it comes with documentation and you have the right tools.

if you're just talking about the conversion kit (no projectors) should take you 30 minutes to install it into your car. it's really really easy to do. you take out your stock headlights, plug the box into the stock wiring harness, and wire up the headlight using the wires that came out of the box. oh, and install the headlight. it's almost as easy as changing your stock headlights. get them - they're worth it.

now on the other hand, if you're talking about making actual REAL HIDs - then you're gonna need a lot more things than just the conversion. VXCL is doing it or has actually completed it. that requires taking apar the housing, installing a projector into the housing, etc. much higher quality but hours and hours of work.

that's just my two cents.

I've done/helped with 2 HID installs, and didn't need new housings.

Install time takes less than 30 minutes.

Here's a thread I dug up while looking for my tranny cooler install thread. It's a write up by dajuice27 of the HID install that we did together: http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=74078

Good luck!

its REALLY easy to do, all you have to do is mount the ballasts, put in the bulbs, and in my case, run 4 lines to the battery terminal.

these were the ones i got...
