HIDs

Everyone who has HIDs please post pics and what Kelvin rating you have, I wanna see what looks good on the 1st Gen.

Also anyone know where I can get a set for under $350?

for under 350? you're asking a little too much aren't you? I think the lowest i've seen so far for a decent set of HID's was from the groupbuy that was ran here on this board, and that was for 365 I think.

i've seen some sets on ebay with hella ballasts go for about 350. just wishful thinking i guess

$300 you can have mine... the Lexus ones... they take a little effort to mount the bulbs... but I have faith in you... YOU CAN DO IT!!

okay finally got pics up, had to have my roommate do a quick website for me, haha, these are the 7000K HID Osram Bulbs with HELLA ballasts, got them for 400

one more thing, those look a little tealish blue white, in reality it's actually really bright white with a bit of blue hue

What is the difference between HID's and those Plasma White or those PIAA bulbs for like $70?

true HID (High Intensity Discharge) lighting uses an arc capsule, instead of a filament bulb. There is a ballast that ups the voltage and keeps the arc going. It is very similar to Flourescent lighting... but with much greater output capabilities!

HIDs produce approximately 3x the light at about 1/2 the wattage. (does that sound right?)
