Exclamation Hid Help!

Fawk! I will make this a quick and painless post.

One of the hid bulb went out. Moved it to the other side and the bulb is fine, but thinking that the ballast is bad. Is there anyway I can check the ballast. I check the wire's and fuses but everything looks fine. If it comes down to it, do i just buy another ballast! gerr dam it all to hell!!!

VXCL, do you have any idea what the cause could be for ballasts/ignitors dying? mine happened like 2 min after i hit like 3 HUGE potholes in a parking lot where they were doing construction, I actually thought the ballast like fell out of the engine bay haha, or a wire came loose, but everything was fine..

leave the bulbs and ballasts in their place and swap the ignitors to test them, if possible.

that auction is for a ballast / ignitor combo which is what i thought he had to begin with.

as far as your prob, potholes should not have cuased it, but there are many variables with kits from build quality to installation. none of the components should be able to move around. if your ignitor was just dangling around then yeah shit can happen. ive never taken an ignitor apart, but there is alot of components inside a ballast on a circuit board and if its banged around its possible things can crack off or become damaged. on oem stuff the electronics are very isolated and protected from that, but still.

yeah i have a system with the ballast/ignitor in one unit, and it was VERY secure, like i said after all the bouncing around i checked it out the next day and nothing had moved at all, it was all still secure...
