HID Headlight Out... Please help
As you noticed, my headlight is out. The guy I bought the car from had put HID's in it (it being a 97 2.2CL). The passenger side light has been acting funny for a little while now, but if it didn't go on at first, usually it would after I flipped the light switch off and back on. Sometimes it would just go on on the first try. But now I can't get it to light.
I have tried leaving the switch on and unplugging the main wire from the relay? (the box attached to the light) and plugging it back in. All it does is make some strange clicking or zapping sound, it doesn't turn the light on.
Do I have to replace the bulb or the little box that the wiring's attached to? If it's expensive, can I revert back to the original headlights without any modification?
Thanks for all your help.

Well, the same exact thing happened to me recently.... the zapping sound coming from the ballast is normal, shows that power is going through it, the problem is there's no power coming out to the bulb, i think you have to get a new ballast like how i did.. The metel box isn't the problem, its that little box that comes with it., might be blown..

I agree, about a monh ago my bulb started making the same zapping noise and when I swapped the bulbs it worked. So try that and see if its just the bulb, its gonna cost u like $125 a bulb or $200 for a pair.

I had this happen to me also. I just went out and bought a new HID kit. If you need a ballast, let me know, I have an extra one from my old kit. Matter of fact, I'd send you my entire old kit minus the bulbs.

I had the same problem a few months ago. Switch the ballasts around like everyone else said and see if it is the bulb or ballast It is most likely the ballast which you will have to replace. Unfortunatly they are hard to find due to the HID crack down. I think HIDPlanet.com sells them or check ebay. You could also use a ballast from a car like a bimmer like i did, just make sure to get 20k plus wire connectors, otherwise all those volts will jump thru the electrical tape or whatever you use, to the frame of your car and you Good luck
Edit- It is really easy to go back to stock. Basically unplug the 9006 connector going to the ballast thru the wire harness and plug a halogen 9006 bulb in. Make sure you remove the whole HID wire harness and of course the bulbs and ballasts
