HID bulb question

I have d2s 4100k Phillips bulbs...

Can I just stick in like 6000k bulbs if I wanted into the projector? I don't wanna blow my ballast -_-

I wish I could say my output is white....its actually almost stock colored, just a tiny tint of white. My mom's is 4300k I think and she has white, thats what I want.

She has a Lexus LS400 with HID's....could I just swap the bulbs?

I guess my bulbs haven't "settled" yet....I've used maybe about 5 hours of on time haha....I got these installed a few weeks without night driving much....maybe I've hit 10 hours now...

Thanks!

kelvin rating has nothing to do with the electronic functions of a xenon system for the most part. all cars use philips or osram 4100k bulbs. some people call them 4300k but they are not. after a while of use they change color temp slightly to about 4300k. philips does make a 6000k bulb ultinons or something like that. don't buy some cheap brand that is coated to appear like 6000k. the philips bulbs actually make 6000k from the gasses inside not by a coating. also be ware of philips or osram 4100k bulbs coated to be 6000k, 10000k whatever. your projectors should not look the same color as oem halogen. maybe in the daytime if ur standing rightr next to ur headlamp, but other drivers on the road will see purple white. and at night theres no comparison. if u have osram bulbs u may be confusing the more yellow color it emits on the road then philips, but everyone else sees purple white xenon. if anything switch to philips 4100k if you want more white, but they are no where near the deep purple look of osrams from a distance. i miss my osrams, but the philips are slightly brighter for some reason. don't buy 6000k bulbs even philips.

i you want philips let me know.

I think he is talking about what he sees on the road.

4100K is going to be a slightly yellow tinted white on the road. 5500K is average daylight, regardless of what anyone says (pick up a photo magazine sometime). 6000K bulbs should be white on the road, with slightly less light output than the 4100K ones.
