What's up James?

Yeah, I was on my way into work.

I'm doing pretty well.

Long time, no see!

How's things workin out with Shahab?

BTW: What the hell were 'ya doing down on 18th St.?

Scott, These are all I have at the moment (taken back in August). I can take some pics in the AM (I'm off on Thursday). The engine bay doesn't look any different than when I had the '97 motor. Is there something in particular that you need a pic of? Let me know, and I'll snap away on Thursday.

"In between" engines.

Old '97 engine.

New '99 engine.

I don't have a single pic of the '99 engine in the CL.

ghander, he's running the 3.0 motor not the h22a motor

and its from the 99 CL

and as far as the engine goes i think it has like 70k on it and he bought it on ebay REAL cheap, im talking about 550 for the entire engine, which is damn good and if i had a house that is what i would have done and built it up

but rick you need more engine internals, like valve springs, rods, pistons, P&P and you should look into the cams and the TB for the type s a friend has both and the cams work great on the upper rpms and the tb runs a little funny but you need to tune it in but it runs fine

more pics

I knew I was coming up on the 105K mile service (which was gonna be expensive). AT 105K miles on the 3.0, you need:

Timing Belt change, Idler Timing Belt change
&
Water Pump change
- plus -
I'd need my valves adjusted
&
I needed new head gaskest and valve cover gaskets (yes, nitrous takes it's toll).
-plus- new belts

I found my '99 engine (29K miles) on eBay for $550 + $150 shipping and figured I drop it in myself. The total cost would have been way less than getting the '97 engined serviced.

As it ended up, I paid a friend of my Uncle's (a real mechanic with a shop) $850 for the labor to swap the engine (including all accessories), replace the main seal on the tranny, plus replace the rear rotors and pads.

In the long run, I paid $1550 for all of the work, and now have an engine that had 29K miles compared to my 106K miles. Plus I have an extra engine if I choose to build it.

Scott, I'm glad the pics helped. An h22, huh! The possibilitities would be endless!

I like your thinking man I wish I could have seen that engine go in. Thats totally cool. Would your uncles friend be able to swap cls cams into my car? as well as adjust my valves? I cant seem to find a good mechanic anywhere. If this guy can swap an engine he looks pretty competent. I am also looking for someone who can install the v6p.net tranny on my car. any ideas? -Jai
