Help a newbie out...
Help a newbie out...
I've tried searches, but thing come up too specific to what I'm looking for. I know nothing about anything, I'll say that first. I have a 1997 Acura CL 3.0. I'm looking to put some money into it both for looks and for performance. From what I've gathered here the things people most commonly suggest are...
-Intake
-Exhaust
-Wheels
-A drop
-Different lights (clear?)
I really dont know anything about any of those listed above. Can you guys explain everything I need to know about each. Maybe someone can explain everything from prices to what each does. Also, what the first thing to put money into is.
Thank you,
Ben

Ok... first of all.... noone makes purely acura parts for the cl... we end up getting HONDA ACCORD stuff.... but dust knows where to get stuff. askem... but otherwise there are some good sites out there. it's just that you need to get stuff for the accord 94-97 and the clear lenses you can get on ebay for less then 30 bucks.
Like we arranged, I'll chat with you this evening via AIM.
Modding the 3.0 has been the most fun I've had with any of my cars (well, except for the '71 Javelin).
Some starting points are the clear bumper lenses. I got mine from the www.procarparts.com site (or they also auction them on eBay).
As for a Cold Air Intake (CAI) many folks are pretty polar on the issue. Either get the AEM, or get a generic (no-name--like mine), and get a K&N filter.
You can debadge your trunk/remove the emblems (or replace the emblems with the 2nd Gen lettering--like mine).
I really like the Eiback Pro-Kit. I didn't want the "slammed" look, but I wanted to get rid of the wheel gap, and have reduced body roll. These coupled with the KYB AGX struts have been a dream.
Wheels are a personal decision. I choose 18s, because I think they look better. I got my wheels and tires at www.whalentire.com
Basically, before I joined this web site, I would scan eBay and find what aftermartket parts were available for the 3.0. I learned quite a bit about whats available. This site has helped me with all of my other mods.

We'll talk more this evening.
BTW: WELCOME!
