Help? Hit in the fender
So my girlfriend's dad backed up into my car the other day.
I can't open the passenger side door more than a few inches because of the fender.
I can fit about half of my index finger into the gap that now exists.
There is some very slight scraping on the edge of the door, not enough for me to really worry about, considering the overall condition of the car.
I know it's probably difficult to tell with this camphone picture, but I'd appreciate any insight:
Do you think I'll need a new fender, or does it look like it could be pulled out?
If it could be pulled out, do you think it would be cheaper to buy my own fender and replace it myself?
Does anyone know about paint disparity.. as in, would another primrose CL's paint would match fine with mine, or is it a toss up?
Anyone in my relative region know what an estimate from a body shop might amount to?

is he paying for this?
paint matching on a primrose will be hard, when mine was repaired, it came out pretty bad, even though acura dealer did the work.
go to a dent removal place, see what they say, might be okay...doesnt seem like the paint cracked

where is....
try taking off the fender and gently popping it back out, wouldnt hurt to try the air can/hair dryer dent remover method on the fender from the other side too.
looks like you have a scuff, it might buff out.

Yeah, he's covering the bill.
But seeing as it's my girlfriend's father, I want to make this as cheap as possible.
I'm afraid if I try to pop it out myself, I could do more harm then good.
And then a professional might have more work to do than he would have initially.
I guess I'll take it off tomorrow and see if it looks doable.
How does the fender come off?

^It's the pic of your car and the S2K. I know it wasn't a photo shoot you did, but I liked the pic and how you car looked, haha. I got it from the Primrose thread.

Thanks AznX TL
Yeah it sure looks like two of those screws call for a bumper removal.
I've decided it's too damn cold for me to go sit out in the parking lot and do all this crap. I'm going to wait another week until I go back to school and get it repaired down there. I can't really be out of a car until then.

well from that pic, you dont need to get a new fender... but now people will say, instead of having a body guy fix that, you might as well get a replacement fender and have that painted.
IMO: get this fender fixed, its a very light tap. if u get a replacement fender (non - oem, because it will be cheaper then a used oem one in some cases) its a lighter sheet metal. I have a non - oem fender and its really cheap compared to the oem.

u dont need to remove the entire bumper... theres 1 10mm bolt rite where the edge of the bumper meets the fender, pointed upwards. take that out and see how far u can extend the bumper to get to the 2 bolts on the fender, if u need more room take out ur signal light and the bolt behind it
gl (its easy lol)
