help with brakes

We had the brakes done on my son's 97 2.2 a few months back - new pads & rotors turned, front & rear. As my son describes it, while he is braking he can hear a dragging ( grrr grrr grrr)sound from the front as the car slows. We took it back once right after the repair but they found nothing wrong. I am guessing the rotor is not true but they just called and said the rotor is not scored or whatever. Any ideas from those who have dealt with this problem?

i've only heard that "grr" noise with my brakes after it rains and my car has been sitting. It is just the temporary rust that has formed on the rotor being removed by the pad. However, if your son still hears this noise even when the rotor is clean, then perhaps it is just the nature of the replacement pads (assuming that they are NOT Acura pads?)

it could be brake dust. Have him clean his wheels and rotors w/ some simple green and hot water and see if it goes away.

It may be the nature of the pads. If there is no vibration than its not the rotors. Noise is usually associate with the pads.

If it happened right after the job was done...then it could be the disks breaking in, but this will only last for 20 miles or so. If it still continues..then it might be the disks themselve. Either wrong disks or super crappy disks are super hard and eating up your rotors.
