HEllo Gents, new member...
Hello guys, new member here, coming over from the world of Audi, VW and Honda. I have had a long list of car experience as you can see below in my sig.
I just picked up a 97 3.0 CL as a daily driver so i can return my CRX to pleasure and autox driving and just work on some more items I just cant while I was using it as a daily.
As mentioned I got the CL just this past Sunday down in Long Beach. It was listed originally at $4900, then dropped to $4200 and I was able to get it for $3800. It has 145,000 miles, and drives fine. It does have two minor annoyances - the power driver seat moves in all directions except forward - so I'm driving from a further back driving position than i like, but not too bad. And the passenger power door lock works, but makes a loud whine when locking.
Other than that, it does have a few minor sciffs on the front and rear bumpers, but nothing I'm worried about.
I'm planning on picking up wheels and doing a drop, I was thinking that I just wanted to do a Eibach Pro kit and some ASA AR1 Mesh in 18x7.5. But after getting inspiration from fliplyriscist (sp?) I was looking at some used wheels in 17x8 and 9 in either a 35 or 44 offset and doing a more aggressive drop spring.
Any input or help would be appreciated if you guys might know some fixes for either above problem and input on suspension options. I dont want to go too crazy on this car, but i would like it to look nice.

Welcome, if you're doing a dd I wouldn't go nuts on the aggressive offsets, but a mild drop and some rims would be a nice touch. What kind of work do you have done to the CRX? I feel you on needing a dail driver, I bought another car so I could work on my CL

Yeah I was kinda thinking that myself, that's why I thought of the ASA's from Tire Rack plus the pro kit, something nice, but that wouldn't catch too much attention. Just that the used JDM crazy offset wheels, are so much cheaper, lol.
I havent dont too much crazy stuff to the crx yet, i picked it up from a lot that got it trade in from orig owner. It was in fantastic condition with every stock piece there and not even an aftermarket radio or alarm installed.
So far I have don GC/Koni Suspension (450f/400r), Sparco drivers seat, rebuilt the engine (blew the head gasket) with a JDM ZC non vtec head and cam, added a DC header and a set of Rota RB's in 15x7 30 offset (track wheels, i'll add azeni's later). Due to the cars age, I would like to get in and really go over all the supension components, check all the ball joints and such. i know I already need rear trailing arm bushings and plan to go spherical.
I'll be adding a Neuspeed RSB, PWJDM solid strut bar up front and deciding if I will be doing a 4.7 final drive or picking up a Jackson Racing Supercharger, CF ZC hood, Fastbrakes 11" kit. I'll also be adding a rollbar, harnesses and swapping my adjustable Sparco over to the pass side and use a fixed back instead for me.
Believe me I have a laundry list of things I want to do, plus working on our house.

Tell me more about this tranny deal? I haven't felt any issues shifting, there hasn't been a rebuild yet, but i was thinking of changing out the fluid when i do the oil and other fluids this weekend.

Dang, it won't let me edit my post - with an Eibach pro kit spring, would you guys recommend 18's or 17's? TireRack's price on the ASA's are cheaper in the 18" flavor by a few bucks for some reason?

def 18's with a pro kit, make sure you get the 94-97 accord v6 pro kits or the car won't sit right.
Our trannies are known to get too hot, and the bearings break off and wreak havoc in the gears. It's good even for a daily driver to add a tranny cooler to help prolong the life of the tranny. Pretty much every auto owner, 2.x and 3.0 on here has rebuilt their tranny at least once.

Okay, so I'll add a tranny cooler to the shopping list then and definately do a fluid change. I was looking at the tirerack site for the Prokit springs and they had 3.0 CL specific listed, should I just go ahead and order the 94-97 V6 kit anyway then?

I'll see if I can get some Pics of the CL this weekend after I do the fluid changes and hopefully get a tranny cooler mounted. Here are some pics of the CRX for now - remeber it's still a work in progress and had to make do as a daily for a while after I got rid of my 05 Audi, lol.
Oh and dont mind the fake Mugen Oil Cap and shift knob - my wife really wanted to get me them as a present and found a deal on ebay - she had no idea they were fake, but at least she didnt spend much, lol.
and this finally going back in soon

Cool, it's a fun car.
UPDATE - I just picked up a set of rims, not as conservative as I first thought I would pick, but nice. I'll have pics of the car and the wheels up tomorrow.
Thanks again guys.
