heater problem..or is it an AC problem?

So when i turn the auto temp control on, it works fine at 60...blows some ice cold air at me, but then i went to turn it up to get some warmer air, and usually that happens at about 69-70, but i pushed the temp all the way up to 86....still getting ICE cold air blowing at me at FULL FORCE...as if i never moved it from 60. At about 87 it gets a little warmer but to get hot air coming back through i have to set it to 90...any ideas what could be causing this error?

Usually that is a bad sign. But it sounds like ur car is not overheating so it nutting too serious. My friend drove around in the dead of winter without a radiator. At the time it was his crappy car and he couldn't afford to put a new one in. It was so cold the engine didn't overheat for the couple of days it was like that. But he didn't have heat at all. I would guess on his car it takes heat from somewhere along the lines of the coolant.
