Headliner?

I was just curious, Is there any way to clean the headliner without consulting some professional services. I just don't want to end up with a big wet stain or a sagging roof. If anyone knows of something I can try, please let me know.--Thanx,
Glenn

How bad is it? What are you trying to clean off?

Well, I just bought it yesterday and I looked up and say some kinda brown stain near the visor then I looked back and saw some other stains in the back. I know its not grease, maybe just dirt. Its pretty dirty, I think the people smoked that had the car last.

Congratulations! Welcome to the board. When you can, post some pics!

My suggestion is to start with a mild soap and water, and sponge it off. This will most likely take the stain away. If not, you may want to try a commercial cleaner from Pep Boys, etc. Good Luck!

Well i decided to do spots on mine because my mom used to drive the car and ended up getting mascarra on the headliner. I cleaned it with some cleansor and realized how much lighter it came out (rest of it was pretty dirty i guess) and i needed to do the whole thing. It was a pain and doesnt look that good. I keep meaning to take it to get it done professionally You might want to look into that as well especially if they smoked because you know the headliner must be filthy.

HEHE, I DARE ANYONE OF YOU TO TRY TO TAKE THE HEADLINER OUT! go ahead, see what happens! we did, but there is a little problem.

just use carpet shampoo and it will clean the headliner right off. you might rinse and repeat a few times but it will come clean.
