Headlights, SRS, and A/C Lighting
Pls. don’t flame to hard because I know these things have been discussed numerous times but I need help making sure I am doing this right. Just bought a 97 CL 2.2 Auto w/90000 miles. Just completed the custom$$ary timing belt/waterpump belts thermostat and filters.
Had the tech align the headlights and run a SRS diagnostic for big bucks I might add. Turns out the SRS unit is dead code 10-1. Got it home and followed everyone’s advice on the paperclip fix. No luck not a single flash beep or nothing. Then I tried in vain to disassemble the Main wire harness just to get the idiot light out for an inspection. Well no luck there either other than almost destroying the connector.
The repair shop wants 600.00 to replace the unit. This is becoming an expensive car. Is the SRS unit the silver box under the driver’s side dash directly under the steering column?
Sunny side Acura appears to have them for 150-300 dollars. I am going to disconnect the battery remove all harnesses remove unit and reinstall in reverse. Does this sound right?
Headlights are just too dim for me. Is the 9005/9006 mod simply putting them in the opposite way? Is there a wattage risk?
Just got my JCWhitney Catalog and it has some interesting bulb sets.
9005 65 and 100 watt
9006 55 and 80 watt
With different types, Diamond Blue. Diamond white Xenon Blue, Xenon White and HIB Blue bulbs. Pls. recommend best combo,,,and Finally
Is there a cure for the dimly lit A/C control Panel? @ Night I can barely see the controls, the gauges and other lighting is fine and I have the light adjustment knob @ full brightness.
Thanks in advance and appreciate your time.

the 9005 conversion cosists of you cuttin off one of the 3? prongs that it has and sanding/dremeling down the two little lines inside where the plug is. Basically you make it so that it can fit in your 9006 connector. With stock bulbs it makes a huge difference
