Headlights

Hey people - My headlights have become quite cloudy since ive gotten my lights and im just wondering what i need to clean them up. Someone told me acetone works but then someone else told me that it doesnt work too well at all. This is probably a newb question for all of you experienced CL owners but I'd really like to know the best way to clean my headlights. Thanks peeps.

My friend used this ss/metal polisher and it worked pretty good. It comes in a polished can.

for light stuff you can actually use toothpaste because it contains a mild abbrasive but for deeper pitting and clouding you will need to wetsand. I dont know the grit at the time but i know it has been discussed Good luck

Ascetone DOES NOT WORK, DO NOT USE IT AT ALL!!!

This will ultimatly make your headlights even worse, they put a glaze over the headlights and make it even more cloudy, ive tried and skrewed one of mine up a while back when i did my first projector conversion

Best thing to use is some stuff called GooGone, it works great and it is a great product. also you can use the toothpaste technique, use some plain baking soda toothpaste and rub in circular motions and then clear off with some warm water

Hope this can help ya out, if you need instructions on how to take apart your headlight do a search for it you will find many people explaining how to do it, ive done a write up, VXCL has done one many of times and a coupld of others as well

I wet sanded mine, with 350, 1000, 1500. Put some pretty good scratches in the lens. After, I used heavy duty rubbing compound, then polish with scratch remover. I heard the best thing to use is the meguiars plastic cleaner, polish with a d/a polisher.
