Headlights

Has anyone ever taken the silver thing that covers the low beams out? Would that be a bad thing to do?

Well,
it would become a high beam, I think.

LOL... the way you responded was funny, but I think you're right. That prevents the bulb from shining straight out of the lens. It may be illegal to remove that b/c of the light that the bulb would be giving off....

The difference that I see between a 9006 and a 9005 is that the 9006 has the gray area at the top which prevents the light from shining directly out. I thought that was what that part in the headlight was doing? Oh well. I am trying to find a descent looking set of blue bulbs. I bought those Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs and they suck. I emailed them, and they are going to refund my money. I want a bulb that shines blue not white.

If you want a bulb that shines blue i have heard the Noyka are really blue but really suck at lighting up the road. I have a set of Naxos Xenon blue which look pretty HIDish and light up the road pretty well. I currently dont have them in cause i didnt like the fake HID look.

new PIAA extremes are blueish. i have them as blinkers and reverse lights. the piaa super plasmas look pretty much just like HId. they cost $120 and they come from japan. they aren't made in the us. same with the extremes. if u want 9006 bulbs they are imported. the only 9006 bulb in the us for PIAA is superwhites.

I have the PIAA super plasmas blues, and I think they look pink-purpleish. I don't really like them, they don't light up the road at night very well, especially if it is raining...

I currently have one Sylvania Cool Blue Bulb in my right low beam, and a Philips Blue Vision in the left. Last year I had bought a set of Cool Blues for about $15 each, then after one burned out, I replaced it with a Blue Vision for only $9. I can't really tell a difference between the two, but i like them better than standard stock lights.
