Headers question

I can't decide which headers to get. I have a 97 2.2 CL. I read somewhere that since DC Sports, Greddy, Neuspeed, etc. have the same design (4-2-1), they would give you the same HP gain. But I also read that the CLs with f22/f23 engines already have a 4-2-1 design so the HP gain will be minimal. Has anyone with f22/f23 dyno'd their cars with the headers installed? If yes, how much HP and torque gain did you get? Check this link: http://www.angelfire.com/ga2/96accord/art4.html...

Let me know what you think...

Thanks!

so are you saying that for my car, I would use the accord headers for the 98+ accords? I thought I use all the 94-97 accord headers if I have a 2.3?

Did you have a noticeable HP gain?

When I installed the header, I did the AEM CAI as well. A noticeable difference when I was done. So, I can't say if one helped, but both of them really did!

Bosal/Brospeed makes a direct fit for the CL. Listed as CL not 97 accord. Love mine. All the gain was around 5500 rpm. Glad I forked out $$$'s.

i highly reccomend dc 4-2-1 ceramic unless ur car is dropped alot. then stainless. cc will crack easy if hit. anyway after install i got most of my low end back that was lost to my cai and cat back. also the cc header is lighter then stainless. u want part for 94=97 accord EX!!! part number is listed above and is the right part for a 2.2 or 2.3. also i would get aem pullies also.

Are the ceramic headers 100% ceramic. I am almost positive theyre just a coating applied to a steel substrate. May have to worry about scraping it up, but I dont believe breaking them is an issue. Could be wrong.

they are mild steel or someting like that. then coated. idk how easily they crack but thats what i was told by the ppl at dc and many others. if ur car is like and 1or 2 off the ground i would get ceramics.

I guess the headers will primarily be to get back the low end power that I lost when I installed my AEM CAI. I've heard that high end power will be minimal (for the f22/f23 engine at least). Now, I'm contemplating whether the headers are worth the money or not.

BUY THEM. i am so happy i got my low end back. and spend another 130 on some pullies. im about 90% sure i got more low end then i did stock. not to mention my car runs smoother after the pullies. revs much nicer. also the ceramics are a nice weight reduction mod at the same time.
