Header Question - Leaks?
Sup Guys,
How can you tell if your header has exhaust leaks? Is there anyway to know? I was just wondering because somebody bought the exact same ones that I did for their accord, and he said that the header leaked! After i installed the headers I checked w/ my hand to feel if any exhaust was leaking...and it felt okay. Am I just being paranoid?
I was also wondering how you keep stainless steel headers looking shiny! I've had them on for about a month and they're all bronzing over. Is that normal? Just wanted to know. Thanks in advance guys.

You should of a start the car and listen for any whistling sounds coming form the headers. Look for cracks and fractures and any exposure of the gasket. And of course make sure the bolts are tightened to specs.
The bronzing effect of the stainless steel is caused by heat which is perfectly normal. To remove the bronze try a stainless steel cleaner. If that does not work you might want to try a product like Blue-Away. A visit to home depot or anyplace that sells grills and barbecue should be able to help you. And never harshly scrub stainless steel as you will remove the protective coating and corrode your headers
