Header install???

I just need to know what I am going to need to do the job ,other than the obvious ratchet etc.I just ordered the header the other day and I want to do it as soon as I get it. I shouldn't have to mess with any 02 sensors right????

Yes you are going to ahve to take the primary O2 sensor off the original down pipe (which is actually this little piece of pipe) and screw it into the new ones. Pieces of cake. You will need a rachet wrench with the usual metric sockets and a really, really long extension. Some wd-40 might be a good idea for stubborn bolts. Thats about it.

Why do you have to take the o2 sensor off?

I didn't.

Honest....

dcsquirm88 ... did u do the install yourself? Cuz if u did u would know that the primary o2 sensor is attached to a small 2-3 inch pipe that fits between the header and the cat.

Ofcourse I did the install myself. I don't know what brand headers you got but my OBX headers replace that piece of pipe and come with a hole for the o2 sensor. The headers are a perfect fit, and go from the block straight to the cat.
Sucks that your headers don't do that, I wouldn't want that old rusted piece of pipe between my headers and my racing cat.
Did you get the headers that are made for a 94-97 accord EX? Some brands make headers specifically for the accord ex, which would be the closet to our cars since we have vtec like it and the 2.2 CL has the same engine.

well unless each year and model are different, MY 98 3.0 was as dcs said... the O2 sensor was on the straight of the down pipe... I had to remove it and reattcah it to the headers!!!

I guess different brands do different things. My obx headers that are for a 94-97 accord replace that little piece of pipe on my '98 2.3 CL. Changing the O2 sensor from the little pipe to the new headers is very easy. All you have to do is unscrew it from the little pipe and screw it into the new headers.
