Had Brake Service 2day
After my brakes squeling for 2 weeks, bit the bullet and went to do my brakes..the rears got done but now the fronts as we all know are the stupid "hub over rotor" design. looks like a 600$ job just for fronts...

well i went to canadian tire, i know im stupid, i had no time to go else where. They quoted 3.2 hours labour at 84$, 50 somethin per rotor, 50 for a set of pads, plus taxes. I know i could get a better deal...they charge average prices..less than dealerships, more than shady tree mechanics.

Right on, that's not terrible if you're gettin pads and rotors, I drop $1000 at a time for brakes and install, because I buy xdrilled slotted rotors and ceramic pads, but that labor rate is pretty high. But all in all everything included, $600 out the door isn't horrible

exactly..
i paid almost a grand for my brakes when i did mine but i also did the hub over rotor conversion, legend calipers, new ball joints, tie rods etc etc..
i could only imagine how much it would of been + labour

If they are gonna tell you who to take your car to, then they can help you pay for it. OR just take it to your friend without them knowing.
Forgivness is easier to get than permission.... Just remember that.

I would never take my car into Canadian Tire for repairs. I've heard nothing but bad things about their mechanics. Did you already pay the $900 for the break job or can you still take it somewhere else for the fronts?

Finally Got the fronts done yesterday....after countless 500$ quotes went to the mechanic my budddy works at. Im pretty satisfied with the job and the price was good at 350 including parts....it tooke like 7 hours though. The guy's a good mechanic but he works slow as hell and the shop is way out so i had to sit and wait. But now I have new brakes all around, so thats good.

Yah, for sure. 600 is pretty good for both fronts and rears. Now lets hope they last and work well.
