Had 12 bent exhaust valves
And I still smoked the shit out of my friend's evo's
This was great news to my ears believe or not. I was laughing when the shop told me this. Anyways, have the car back at the house. Woot! Time to attempt the install on that turbo kit...

Wow that title is the exact wording of the text u sent me, freaked me out for a second. Glad that's all it was, so did they replace all the bent valves or repair them? Would this be from mating the type S head to it?

They replaced it. And it's from me hitting 8k by accident on the bottle over a year ago. I knew something was wrong with the car since then. From that point I found the compression leak, suspected the head gaskets and valve seats, had the heads checked and they were okay, but those valves weren't. I've been driving it around with those bent valves for over a year. lol
Don't get me wrong. In over a year I put less than 1,000 miles on the car, so it's not like I drive it everyday or anything.

I know the feeling, the time you brought it out to show me, you said it was the first time you had it on the street and not just driving it around the block in forever. I just broke the first 1000 miles on my CL in over 2 years

Have the videos uploading.
For some reason I think there's something wrong with the car again. Doesn't feel as fast. I don't know...but I'm getting some sort of vibe from it...it might be all in my head. Wish I could drive it around and see what's up. I'll dyno it next weekend and see if I'm right.

if you have any hesitations you must get your valves checked for the proper lash clearance. I had that problem when i finished my head. Your exhaust valves might not be opening enough or they might be opening too much. Either way it would affect performance. Ticking is usually the way to diagnose it. After valve/head work ur supposed to start the car. Have it warm up then let it cool. Repeat the process a few times. Then break in the valves for a few hundred miles.

good way of burning em too. it is recomeded to do on the low side such as. my intake are 7thousandths to 8thousandths and my exhaust are 6thousandths to 7thousandths and i did 7 for intake and 6 for exhaust. Would def check your valve adjustment if you will.

woops other way around 10 and 8, Cocoa should def check all that out that thing was at like 7g's in that video. No need to check my vavles.

Update:
Have a date with Jotech to adjust my valve clearance and do another leak down compression test. I also will be insuring the car this Friday ($99, lol) for a month only. I'll be putting in the 500+ miles needed to break her in properly before putting her on the dyno. (I may or may not put her on the dyno)
If the compression looks good, odds are I'll just put the 500 miles on her by Saturday night, and get started on the install of that turbo kit without another dyno.

Going to tell them to set it to stock. Even though I have the J35 block and didn't stroke the j32 block, I am using the CLS pistons which are higher compression than the stock j35 block's piston's compression ratio, so that alone tells me those pistons are cominig up slightly higher than intended. I rather not risk having those valves touch my pistons since I don't know how much clearance there is. I'm sure I could pay to find that answer, but rather not.
