sorry kid, heard all the way up to the H23, which is the european accord motor, about 215hp, or was it 220hp? anywayz, itz a pain in the ass to have because it is expensive to fix and not many shops will have the parts to replace the motor with if anything went wrong. But if you want it, go ahead and do a frankenstein, H23 block with the B20 head, or was it an H22?, i forget how you make it into a frankenstein, damn, havent been reading...shit...oh well, yea, are you lloking for more options than just the H22 swap? Or are you just asking for the fun of it?

lol over winter break I was I helped my mom buy an 04 accord from Keeler honda. Albany/Latham, NY. I asked the guy what series engine it was and he said either f23 or h24. By the way it was the 4 cyl version. I looked under the hood and it resembles the f23... which is what I have... I mean the engine is mounted on the right side instead of the middle and the battery is located on the right instead of left. Looks like nice stock headers, 4 seperate exhaust thingies...like 4-1 headers... didn't look to long... anyway so I dunno perhaps honda does make an h24... but the engine in the accord is 2.4L so it has gotta be either f24... h24 or something else... anyone heard of f24?

read up some more dude. you're misinformed.

the H23a1 is the Prelide SI motor that is dohc and does not have vtec. it makes 160 hp.

the H22a7 is the motor that makes 220 hp that came in the EDM Accord typeR sedan. it has higher compression, more agressive cams, etc. hard to get, and expenive when you find it........ but not harder to repair than the regular H22 series.

if you do want to make a frankenstein, then you have to use H-series parts only. that is the only way they are truely interchangeable. some people have done the H22a top end on the H23a bottom, but it tends to be unreliable at high RPM's.

First of all, Euro-R Accord motors are not h23's their designation is h22a7 even though it doesnt have the 7 isnt stamped on the block. I know because I have one in my car. H23's came in prelude's 93-96. They are non Vtec. Thats how poeple do the frankenstine h23 with an h22 Vtec head. There are obd2 jdm h23 Vtec motors but they're nothing to brag about.
