Never heard this taked about so I thought I'd ask. if i put a h22a in my 97 2.2 5 speed, can I use the cl tranny, or do i need the H22a one. Also, does anyone on this board actually have it done? because if so, please PM me, I'd like to seriously talk about the pros and cons. Thanks!

You can use either tranny. They both fit but they are pros and cans to each trannt. The longer gears on the CL tranny or perfect for turbo application since you'll be in hig boost longer. The shorter gears of the h22 tranny are much better for every other application since you can get into vtec and go through the gears faster.
I have an h22 with over $3,000 of work and aftermarket parts on it. Will be installed in my car next weekend if all goes well. I've had the engine for close to 5 months and have buying stuff for it all this time.
dcl98turbo or something like that also has done the swap.

I am also putting in my H22a next weekend but i am keeping the cl tranny for now. I want to BEAT THE HELL out of the thing before swapping. Plus i am interested to see the differences and post to all the H22a wanters how it comes out. because lots would like to do the swap but don't want to spend $3000

I spent $3500 but i didn't get the tranny. I GOT ALOTTA MODZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.!!! LOL

if your going turbo.. use an f22a trans.. as the gears are longer.. just put an LSD in it.. quaiffe IMHO

I think i am going to look into turbo next. I know soon i will want more PULL.

especially since MOROSO is right around the corner.

How much are the kits going for on the H22a? Anyone?

Yea and I just sold the TL yesterday. I sold it because i paid cash for it but i want to do my engine SOOOO bad, and I don't really have a use for two cars because I always drive my cl anyways...lol. I sold it for 20,500...which makes me 5,500 dollars more than i paid for it. I took pics, I'll post em soon.

they said it has 25,000 miles on it and it comes with the manaul tranny
