H22 pics

We'll my h22 is almsot done being built and thought some of you would like to see some pics so here you go.

Its taken awhile since the engine was totally dismantled and built again using new and aftermarket parts.
Basically its an h22a4 with a port and polished head, skunk 2 valve springs and titanium retainers, crower stainless steel vlaves and stage 2 cams, JG cam gears, high compression copper head gasket, a zex 75 shot, all the bolts ons (I/H/E), VAFC, MSD, AEM FPR, str fuel rail, and some other stuff I can't remember right now. Anyways here are some pics I took today right before the engine started to be assembled. I'll keep you guys updated of the progress and as soon as I get more pics I'll post them up.
To see all of my pics of the engine and parts click HERE.

forgot to ask you what transmission you're using
lude's or our's like d98clturbo did and why?
correct me if i'm wrong, but our tranny would be better for gas mileage and turbo setup because of longer gears and the lude's tranny is better for an all motor application because it's close ratio? just wondering because i'm starting to buy parts for the swap. and are you using our stock axles?

Blackout I'll be using the preludes 5 speed tranny. The closer gear ratios are much better for my nitrous application than that of the CLs. I have both the preludes and obviously the CLs axles, haven't decided which to use yet but most likely I'll use the CLs and keep the ludes for spares. Oh I've been using zex for over a year on my CL way before I found this little website. I eventually might consider switching to a wet shot so I can shot a bigger shot but for right the zex is in.

Niedejb as far as the internals for the block I'm going to use the stock pistons and rods. I considering getting JE higher comp pistons but the fact that the block would then have to be bore and honed. Also the compression should be around 11.1 with the head gasket and if I got even higher comp pistons that would a crazy NA setup but not too pratical with a 75 shot.

q2 and rice THANKS .

How much HP do you think the engine is going to put out with and without nitrous?

Well the its open deck because I decided to buy an ob2 engine and all usdm ob2 engines are open deck. I could install a block guard and make it a semi closed deck but I don't think I will.

Cams are not hard but not easy to install. You have to open the head in order to install them. According to crower the gain on stage 2 cams is 20-25 HP.

About the axles I have two pairs of them the CL's and the ludes once I go through both of them (if I do) I'll buy some nice customs ones.

As far as pistons and rods I'll be using the stock ones unless someone can tell me its a better idea to do other wise. Seriously how high of a compresion can you run and spray at the same time?

As far as HP at the crank easily over 300 HP since the stock motor has 200 HP + 75 shot and all other mods. Dynos will be done shortly after the swap not only to see what # its putting down but also to tune the shit out of the engine, cams, cam gears, fuel system and vafc.

Looks great!

I bet you're having fun with the biuld-up! :envy:

Can't wait to see what dyno #'s you post and your 1/4-mile times.

Time for me to get busy with my slush-box!
