for the h22 guys.

did anyone ever consider the H23a? There seems to be a little less demand for it, and the gears in the 5 spd are a little longer. Kind of fun and economical.
also if anyone has a trubo h22, what kind of turbo did you use, and do you have a front mount ic, or side mount? what size did you go w/ if you have a front mount?

in case you missed my post you might be interested in this

for a little less than the price of a h22a:

first hybrid enginge of this kind ever created: h23head/f23 block

in the link is dyno results...ended up costing him $400 but with all the parts he had lying around it should total maybe $1200 at most (not including installation)...there's alot of custom work but the results speak for themselves...more power and way more torque than the h22a

http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1052811

yeah yeah all these people talking about reliability issues will come up..but as of i know he has no problems with it...but this is a 1 of a kind build and i have a feeling once all the bugs are worked out (if there are any) this swap will be quite popular among real sohc players

if you're gonna go turbo, better off sticking with the f22/f23 or h23...h22 block is much weaker than iron block of the other 3

there is someone boosting 15-17 psi on a street driven f22 with STOCK INTERNALS..of course properlly tuned..been over a year now

someone's boosting build h23 with over 500hp and tq...full interior street legal

just a few options you have..

link for h23/f23 hybrid in case you missed it again

http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1052811

link for 17psi on f23 (sorry i said f22 earlier) on stock internals

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1018506

built h23 turbo

http://www.accordinglydone.com/forum...hlight=fastest

would you like to know anything else?

regarding boosting the h22a to boost it stock and have it go safely past 8psi (which is already pushing it) you'll have to get it sleeved, lower compression pistons, blahblahblah...the other three motors have an iron block, already low compression, longer gears...but hey if you think otherwise let me know

isnt the F22B1 /F23 the same engines that the 94ish accords and 2.x CL's get? i thought we all came to a conclusion that the H22a is just a better platform to work off of. and i really doubt a stock F block can handle anything like 15-17 horses without tinkering with internals...

they are the same engines

as for the fblock not being able to handle that psi it takes alot of tuning..i believe he's using hondata or something but it should be in the link...he did a pretty detailed write up

as for the h22a being a better platform, imo it depends what you are trying to accomplish and what kind of funds you have...i'm just giving him options that can yield him more power for less money (h23/f23 hybrid) but more work
