There's a big write-up over on AD: http://www.accordinglydone.com/forum...ad.php?t=11176
The gains they got weren't worth the effort

Look up will99's post about it too, look for frankenstein in your search, he did a head swap for someone else, you may be interested in that

The H23 IM and TB swap takes some Solid work to pull of but if its done right and tuned....you will notice a gain. Hit me up on pm or aim sometime and ill send you alot of pics. Most of the issues are with the coolant pipe but if its done correctly with the right pipe, theres no coolant issues and everything works out fine.

I dont know if im willing to put all that work into it, but i might look into it some more. would putting on an h22 TB or f23 mani (ive got an f22. doest seem like it would do anything, but it was mentioned?) or any combination of the two make any difference at all that would be worth it? The frankenstein swap would be awesome, but i dont have the funds or tools/knowledge to do that right now with confidence. thanks for all the input

if you can pick one up for less than 30 bones, then yes, its a good deal. It will help you throttle response. www.maxbore.com and you can get your F TB bored for 100 bones

I want to know if getting my TB bored out will do much good without having work done to the intake manifold or head. Anyone know?

A tb bore will always help no matter what you have. Your getting more air into that plenum. Maxbore tapers you Tb as well. You should look into maxbore getting your tb bored and IM portmatched all for 160. Its a great deal

hmmm... so would it be more cost effective to buy an f23 manifold/h22 tb or to get my tb bored and IM portmatched?

think of F23 anything as beinge bad unless you get the whole thing portmatched and bored from Maxbore...which would then be worth it. The H23 IM swap is for people who want to try something different and not get there stock shit cleaned up and bored. Honestly, try maxbore.com He does AWSOME work and you do feel the gains. With a tune...you can even maximize those gains to fit your driving style. Im having my F22 Tb bored as we speak and putting the IM and TB on ebay. Theres no use for it if I can get my Stock IM portmatched, my TB cleaned and taperd as well as bored ( all for only 160 ) and the casting marks removed from the IM as well. WELL worth it. Supiorior deal

get the intake manifold port polished and bore the throttle body to match ...works best with cams, but then cams = valves, springs, retainers etc..

gotta pay to play

Well shit, I think I'm just gonna spend the money on getting a better turbo or manifold before getting into all that stuff. I like the idea of getting the TB and IM port matched but it would add up to alot after Canadian shipping to Florida and the install sounds like a bitch. I think better gains can be made with my money by adding to the turbo set-up before doing port work to the engine.

It'll be awhile man, I'm heading out of town for second year university in a week. The CL will be sitting in my garage without insurance for the full 8 months. I won't be working during that time either so I might be lacking funds to finish the project until next summer.
