Ground Control & KYB AGX vs. Tein Basics
Ok each setup is about the same price (GC/Shocks ~$500 and Tein basics~$600) but which would be better. I would think the teins but they wont be adjustable for ride. With the Ground controls and AGX's the will be both height and ride adjustable, but does that matter? The Tein SS are like another $200 on top of that, but would it be worth it for them? Dont they only have like 3 settings for adjustment?

lol @ jdm whore.
I would find someone who actually has Tein Basics, which u probably won't find here. Check honda-tech.net or another board and see what people have said about it on their rides. With the GCs at least you can call in and order custom spring rates, if you know how stiff you want the ride.

Since you have a 3.0 go with the basics. The Ground controll's should be ok but the shocks and coilovers are not really designed to work together like the tein setup. I know guys that had ss's and kept them on the softest level which would be the same as the basics and haven't had a complaint about the ride. Only if you tweak on your suspension then you will need adj struts.

Skunk and Ground controll are sleve coilovers (just the coilover assembly) Teins are a full coilover (strut+coilover assembly together designed for eachother)

actually if you call Ground Control (eibach), they use different sleeves depending on the struts you plan to use as far as I know.
and Baka, are you sure the basics are the same as having the SS at the softest settings? I thought they'd be somewhere in the middle

I wish someone on the forum had the tein basics so they could comment... I just dont know what I want to do about suspension right now. I really want air ride but I dont have the $$. Maybe I will hold off for a few months and save up . My current setup works fine for now, I just want to go LOWER

I've got my Tein SS sitting in my living room...I'll put them on in a few weeks and let you know how they are. When I go get the car aligned I'll ask my mechanic if he knows anyone that has Tein basics and what they think of them...

Well, now I got a guy willing to sell me a set of brand new ground controls for $200 shipped so I may go that route for now and see if I like it and if not I should be able to sell them on ebay and get pretty close to that back even used...

All sleve coil-over suck really....i had coil-over and never mess with the ride height. $200 for ground control coilover....that's kinda expensive. If you really want full control of ur ride height and damper....the Tein SS is the say to go....well just got with springs....i got Neuspeed Sport springs and KYB AGX (set on the softest) and it ride great.

I think a good custom spring rate GC/Koni setup can be pretty good, especially if you take your car to the track or auto-x...but for my needs, I'm hoping the Teins will help me be done with changing suspensions...Anyone know the break-in period for the Teins?
