Greed

As you can see in my signature, i'm in the hunt to find a good Nos setup. But i am greedy as most are and i want to push the envelop. I know fastvetec has a 100shot, but i want 150. Can i do this? Another thing, which brands are best and what's the difference in wet/dry. Which one gives more power to the greedy man! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok.....this is what i know; anyone correct me if im wrong...... for anything over 100 shot, youre gonna have to go on ahead and get a wet system.....a wet system has injectors into each cylnder to insure even distrubution. a dry system just has an injector into the intake (before the manifold)and works fine up to 100 shot. For our application, i think 150 might be too much...not sure tho...see if fode is around....he'll know. Also, from what many people have told me. NX nitrous kits are the best....good luck!

and make sure you have some spare transmissions around as they tend to malfunction at one point or another under that much power.

besides that..... 150 is a very large shot for an unbuilt motor without the ability to retard the timing.

Actually a wet system delivers both fuel and N2O at the same time into the intake. A dry system only shoots N2O.

Wet systems are much safer than dry systems because of air/N20/fuel ratio's

many people here are running 75 shot's safely
150 and your engine will go "BOOM"

For a 150 shot the safest way would be to use a direct port setup. Even then, I dunno if the J30 could handle it without forged pistons, rods....ect.

One thing is for sure......150 shot=busted tranny.

not to mention that the injectors cant match the change in the mixture so it would most likely go lean.

I forgot to mention that i've done a bit (maybe not enough) to get ready for the n2 setup. My pistons are forged as i took my car in to have it tuned when my vafc was put in i had to have them "tune" the engine because it ran soooo harsh with the pistons and i've got a hayden tranny cooler and replaced gaskets. I've got a good mechanic that owes me a favor for some parts i jacked for him, would polishing the engine be of any help?
Could someone list the things i need to prepare for 150? You see i'm already excited about it. I understand i could blow 'er up but, that's life i guess. I've even got a new licsense plate ready to slap on that says 150sht. This is a serious project of mine to make this car fast so any help would very much be appreciated. Oh yeah, i wouldn't be running this car all the time, only to race--don't know if that matters. Please send more opinions and advice!!! thanks

Does anyone on these boards even run a 150 shot? You should set aside a couple thousand so when your engine and/or tranny goes, you'll be prepared for the bill. But seriously man, stick with a 75 shot and you will be just fine.

Yeah I plan to run a 150 shot on my h22 wich is totally built from the ground up. I'm going to get rid of ZEX kit which is currently running a 75 shot and upgrade to a wet shot from NX.
Hoff I would considering building your internals a little more or even sleeving your block before attempting a 150 shot, IMO.
Currently on my h22 I have Skunk2 stage cams, with skunk2 dual valve springs and skunk2 titanium retainers, Crower stainless steel valves, JDM h22 type s pistons on Crower billet rods and a nice port and polish job on the head. Those are just some of the internal engine mods but theres lots more outside aswell, including a better fuel setup. Diffinately considering doing some of those mods (which might require some custom parts since they are not many j30 aftermarket parts made). By the way you say you are using forged pistons and was wondering what brand pistons they are and what compression they run at as well? Thanks

dcsquirm88's h22 will hold a 150 shot but the tranny might not hold with the built motor and a 150

your j30 with forged pistons won't hold, IMO
your little connecting rods will snap with that much torque

your tranny blows up more than our universal lude, accord, cl's

comparison with a 150 shot:
Forced induction with stock internals was tried and the j30's tranny blew in a week.

buy a direct port system, and start with a small shot and work your way up to the detonation point

Well I hope the tranny makes out ok, after all it is a 5 speed h22 tranny with an ACT stage 3 clutch. IMO the h22 tranny if far stronger than any CL tranny. But only time will tell.

dcsquirm88, how much longer until you're done?
we've been waiting months and months to see you're the first cl to break the 13 sec mark

i know you've got to be close to having it installed

just imagine picking up your slip and the guy at the booth says"you can't race any more because you need a helmet and a cage"

i just said that out loud and i got the chills
