So my CL's been in the shop for quite some time now getting fixed and painted. Today, the mechanic, who is a good friend of ours, calls me and tells me that the car is painted. I had to go to the shop though to bring him a quarter window that needed to be replaced. And I get the bad news.

Basically, the car has been salvaged a loooong time before I got it. It was hit in every imaginable spot on it. The left rear quarter was replaced, and welded on WRONG. My mechanic had to straighten the whole side out with the door, fender, hood, bumper, etc. all that crap. Now the part (dunno the name) that is between the front window and the door (metal part that holds up the roof) was rusted/burned. So the whole car is fulla problems all around.

He's gonna put the car back together tomorrow and I'm gonna pick it up on Monday, most likely. I had to put way more dough in it than I expected and with all the problems that it has now, I gotta get rid of it.

So I'm gonna drive it for a couple of months or so then sell it while it's still in a good-looking condition (new paint job and painted side skirts) and buy another car.




crap this ruined my whole day.







I was so anxious to get the car out and now I gotta sell it.

So pretty soon I'm gonna start looking for a new ride. Maybe another CL, maybe another Acura.


p.s. i couldnt get the stock lips to get painted either just the sides. crap.

 

Really sucks man. Mke sure you trade it to the dealer and not some nice guy off the street who doesn't deserve it. I really want a new car, but think I will keep my car for quite some time, because I can't afford a new cl-s 6 speed...

 

huh? you are just going to lose that money you just put into it.

 

i feel your pain, i put in over 2k for repairs so far into my salvaged ack.........

Yeah with these gas prices, I'd stay to something smaller for now.

Gas prices have been dropping for like 6 months?

 

In Sacramento, gas prices are around $3.20 per gallon. Dropping my ass.

And I have to get rid of it while I still can while it looks all good. Cuz of the way it was "fixed" before it's unreliable as hell and I'm gonna lose money trying to sell it later. If I do it now I'll probably get all my money back and use it to get something in a better condition.

Basically the physical condition of the car is screwed up.

 

soo yeah about cali gas prices right now... in LA here they are 3.10 for regular. reason is... a fucking racoon (yes the furry animal) ate a bunch of electrical wires and shut down a refinery for a day or two this last week. so we get to see a rise in prices at the pump. sucks huh?
