Going to buy a 3.0 need some help

Hello all. I am going to be buying a 1997 3.0. It has 78k miles. It is in good condition overall. I can get it for 10k. Is that a good deal? Anything to look for specifically that goes bad, or such? Thanks for all the help in advance.

just look for the usual stuff... check the brakes, tires, does it go straight down the road, is it clean... make sure that no idiot lights stay or come on (abs, srs, check engine...etc). The price seems about right, if all is well with the car and its in great shape. Maybe try checking the history on the car on carfax, and if its comming from a dealer, see if you can find out who the origional owner was (usually printed on the owners manual) or give acura a call and give them the VIN number to see how it was maintained. Other than that, good luck and let us know what you decide.

$10,000 seems like a good price. Is it the premium package (leather seats and seat heaters)? Or is it cloth interior?

Check the window regulators (motors) to make sure they're still good. Also, when you get the VIN #, check to see if it was one that needed the ball-joint replacement (Acura will do it for free under warranty/recall).

Otherwise, have fun with it (if you get it)!

$10,000 seems like a very good price for the Premium Package.

Pesonally, I've never had any transmission problems with any of the 4-5 honda products that I've own. I have read here that some people are having problems with there 3.0 auto trannys. My suggestion would be to install a tranny cooler that is larger than the stock one. This only costs around $50.00, and will prolong the life of your tranny.

My tranny is running great!

I'd also trace the vin number for accidents, or look for bondo work, paint work, etc. you never know where cheap repair was made which can sacrifice your safety in another collision.
