Give me a hand guys.
My CL's been inactive for a little while as you all know.
Please just give me a second and help me diagnose my problem.
Symptoms:
Car was dead, needed a charge (the car had been sitting for at least 1.5/2 months without a start).
Car starts up.
Car pulses from 2200 - 3500 RPM in Park and Neutral.
In gear, the car rides fine although downshifts rough into 2nd and 1st.
At a stop, in D4 the car feels like it wants to move. Foot off of the brake pedal and the car will coast easily at 10 mph.
Back in the garage, the car still pulses when out of gear.

IACV EACV FITV
so apparently theres a possibility that theres a vacuum leak, maybe something is wrong with the throttle cable.
also there is a chance that the "FITV" is dirty and not on there securely.
Is the car best off going to my mechanic, the dealer, or my own hands?

One custom CL
First Greg. After dumping money into your car you need to start it at least once a week for a couple of minutes. Its important to keep power flowing into the ecu because now you have to reprogram it. That might be causing some of the rough shifting. As far as the idle I would clean the IACV. Piece of cake and it wouldn't hurt. Change the oil and throw in a fuel injection cleaner. Drive easy first.

yeah mine was doing that. I tried cleaning my IACV but that didn't work, so I replaced it and it fixed the problem. If you end up having to replace it and you do it on your own make sure you put the IACV on the throttle body correctly otherwise you'll be shooting coolant into your intake.

So here's the update.
I took the car out and took her for a long spin today after work.
She was acting the same, except this time the CEL came on.
Im glad that the engine threw a code, now all we need to do is fix it.
This should be a relatively inexpensive fix I'm hoping.
