Generic CAI with real K&N??? Any Good?
If I buy a generic CAI and then buy a real K&N filter will that be just as good as an AEM CAI and if so how much does a real K&N filter cost?

Are the K&N filters one-size-fits all at the openings? Or do different intake pipes have different diameters at the bottom even though they all have to fit the same intake manifold at the engine? I gonna get a K&N filter too i just don't know what size to get. (I guess I could measure it but I don't wanna tear off the wheel well liner twice if I don't have to).

Oh I guess I should clear it up, i already have a CAI with a generic filter...I decided to measure it anyway as it was quite a bit easier than i thought, and i came up with 2.75.

Mike 97: what measurements did you come up with? I suspect that my generic CAI is the same as yours, and the measurements for a genuine K&N will be the same for me. You would save me tons of time having to take out the tire-well trim.

Yours fit on the CAI that goes into the wheel well, not the short-ram intake, right? You had no problem getting that to fit on the end of the piping?
Thanks!
