gear ratio's

gear ratio's

is there such a thing as gear ratio's or different tranny gear's to make more low end torgue? if so how much are they and how much for the labor? the reason why i made this is because the 4th gear is so long that if you had the power to finish it you would get to 180 or so ive been in the car when doing 137mph at 5--- rpm's.

Go get an H22 tranny. The gears are closer, better for drags, worse for top end.

i agree with nomad. H22 gearing is shorter and get you more power, but less top end.

4th gear takes you up to 120 in the 97cl's and like 130 in the 98's. 5th gear from there on, but there is no way that out cars are geared for 180.

i was talking about the 3.0 cl auto 3rd end's at 115 and when shifting into 4th you get out of v tec at 4500.

you're stuck with the auto. i dont know of any other trannys that bolt up to the J30.

Stuck.
You can spend a lot of money beefing it up. Level 10 etc.
Depends on how much you plan to drag.

how strong can you make the stock 3.0 tranny i need to make it alot stonger because i want to run a 125wet shot direct port what do i need to run this without having to worry to much about throwing the tranny you said something about level 10? level 10 torgue converter please explain what you mean by this

Send me the money and I'll do nothing to make your tranny more robust.

My bother fell for the auto upgrade with his prelude and hes still not walking right after the rapeing.

what the hell is there that you can do for th 1st gen 3.0 cl is her no hope in making them fast? that is without having to go through 3 and 5 tranny to get to run low 13's then send it back to the dealer?

tranny coolers typically run for like 50 bucks or so, maybe cheaper, what mods do you have in your 3.0 already?

Try B&M trick-shift in it. Some say it helps because the fluid is stronger etc.
I don't concern myself with auto-tranny info much so someone else will have to help you.

i though that the tranny cooler would be alot more that that but the chaper the better i dont have much perforemance just ractive short ram intake and magnaflo exhaust. the rest is show 18 in rim's, my interior is custom( seat's are silver and black) sterio system, 1.5 inch pro kit drop, the is grill shaved(now i need a CAI) and some other thing's but now it look's good all i need is konie yellow's to drop it the way i want and im going all out racing from there exept for geting the door's shaved and a body kit. racing as in 125wet shot that's why im asking about tranny upgrades because i know it the tranny wont be able to hold long at all with the set up want.
