Did you guys read that soon Honda/Acura will not (soon) honor factory warranties unless you use the specified gases layed out in the warranty? I guess we in the U.S. supplement our gas with 10 percent (menthanol, I think). Honda says that's not what thier engines are designed to perform with, and this will happen in the near future. Anyone know more about this, and which gas stations don't do this? Very curious to know.

 

 

I haven't heard anytinh about this. Ive been putting Crown in my tank but I recently found 93 octane Exxon gas for $1.09 and I noticed a huge performance difference and SAVED MONEY!

 

No one else has heard this?( or knows what I mean?)

 

what the HELL where did you find 93 octane for 1.09? that cant be american.

 

It says comptech in your Signature? i didnt know Comptech made a CAI for our cars

 

you'll only find comptech cold air intakes in the 98' CL type R's w/ RS Akimoto muffler

 

They do this in colder weather climates to reduce the amounts of polution produced by the car. They say on the pump itself to give you a warning or notify you that they do add like 10% methanol for a short period of time during the winter.

They do this where I live right now.

 

I use Diesel fuel.

I've always used medium grade Chevron - it's got Techron !!!

 

Shell / Texaco 89 oct. On occasion Philips/Connoco, what ever part of the country I am in at the time.

 

On a more serious note, I've been using regular for almost a year and my car runs perfect. The owners manual says anything above 86 is fine, therefore I use regular for cost efficiency.

 

i know what you mean.... ARCO uses upto 5% methonol. A lot of companies are doing. fukin methenol burns faster, bastereds.
Ive just never heard about the warranty thing.

Do you ever travel. I'm a Shell fan, but there are parts of the country that are dominated by Connico/Phillips. Hope you cary some spare gas in the trunk.

 

haha.. nope.. i never travel.. and if i do.. its west coast only.. seattle to LA.. and shell is everywhere..
