I get about 250 miles to a tank, about 98% city driving with lots of short trips. I guess it makes sense why my milage blows. I'ma replace my spark plugs this week, i cant remember the last time that was done

ok guys, i know gas mileage depends on how you drive, but i need u guys to give me an estimate on how much a full tank is suppose to get. mostly city driving.

this way i know if i need to spend a lot of money for a tuneup and what not..

*btw, i dont floor it and the highest rpm it goes is approx 3000rpms.

Miles per tank is a pretty stupid way of measuring it IMO. I don't think the gas guage in our car is all that accurate and it makes alot more sense to figure out miles per gallon. I am running 25 MPG in the city and I drive a 5 speed 2.2.

In my 2.3cl auto, I get at least or around 400 miles on a tank with a mix of city and highway, but mostly city. If I push it with only highway driving I get like 450 miles....so I guess you should get around 400 miles per tank, but most of the other guys get way less...=P

You must be gettin really lucky. When my light comes after only doing city driving I usually have around 300-320 on the tach. I live in washington though, a lotta hills here and around my neighborhood. I don't usually drive it outside bothell unless I'm on the freeway.

I reset the trip meter after topping up and look at the number when my empty light comes on steadily....sometimes it comes on/off just before being completely lit. I dont bother adding the reserve...thats more of a emergency fallback rather than useable gas.

still, if you want to know how many miles per gallon, fill the tank all the way and reset the trip meter. then at any time you want to refill just look at how many gallons it takes to fill again and use that number to divide the number of miles on the trip meter. miles/gallon. it doesnt have to be a whole tank fill, it can be anything, youre measuring a rate so you dont necessarily need a large sample.

Like stated before, Its all on how you drive, and how you maintain the upkeep of your car, alot of things can factor in gas milage. I get nice milage in my eyes, city included, Just take care of ya car.
