I've been using synthetic blend for about 6 oil cycles now, i change every 2,500 or so, and i just picked up a thing of mobil 1 fully synthetic oil... any suggestions besides letting old oil drain really well? who has done this? good? bad?

just don't switch back to conventional oil's or blends after you make the switch to a synthetic oil...Mobil 1 syn is actually what I use, which reminds me that's what I am suppose to be doing today.

Yeah, just don't switch back. Nice choice in oils. Mobile 1 and Valeline are my first choices. You sure waste alot of cash to change your oil every 2,500... Seems a bit excessive.

Synthetic is the way to go. If you have a 5 quart jug, run the extra half quart through your engine first to flush out some of the crud, then put your 4.5 quarts in

With Synthetic....you Can Go 5-7k Miles......with No Worries! My Freinds Dad Works For Mobil Oil Company. He Has A 1994 Ford Thunderbird....and He Changes His Oil Every 15-20k Miles! I Didnt Believe It, But His Son Backed His Story, And The Car Runs """great""! Simply Unbelievable!

If you're changing every 2,500 I don't see any need for synthetic. As for getting all the oil out, some people use an oil extractor. See https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ight=extractor

I use royal purple. If I remember correctly it's only like 30 cents more than the M1. I have used an engine cleaner before in my truck that worked ok. The engine cleaner is made to relube your seals and clean all the gunk out of the engine and oil pan. I think it's like 5 or 6 bucks for a bottle of the stuff. I don't know the name of the brand but your supposed to empty the old oil and put in the can of engine cleaner and let your engine run at idle for a couple of minutes then drain and refill with new oil. Or you can just go by the tried and trued sea foam route. You may also want to change your oil filter?
