Fuel Filter Change

I attempted to change my fuel filter tonight, and after I got done, the bottom of the filter was leaking at the connection. I got my filter from AutoZone, and it looked the same except or the bolt on the bottom of the filter is longer than the old filter. It also came with a small washer that I figured went into that connection. When I looked at dustbuster's scans of the manual, it doesn't show a washer in that connection. Just curious what everyone else's experiences are with changing the fuel filter. It's sitting in my garage right now, and tomorrow I'm going to check to make sure AutoZone didn't give me the wrong part somehow. If not, I'm going to attempt putting it back together without the washer. I was getting frustrated with it, so I gave up for the night.

Thanks for anyone's help

Michael

I didn't have a washer for the bottom end. I had a washer for the top. Did you notice that the top screw had 2 washers when you took it off? One went one each end of that screw. Did you make sure to tighten the bottom screw? Also in order to tightne to top one, you have to hold on to the bottom bolt built into the filter so that it doesn't move. Kinda late, but just read this. Hope you have everything done by now.
