Front Speakers

Well, after a couple of weeks rolling around with aftermarket rear speakers, its time to upgrade the fronts as well. I don't need anything great, and I've got Alpine Type-S's in the back, what do you guys recommend on the front? I don't plan on running them off of an amp, just off of the deck. I've heard that there are fitment issues with 61/2's, so do I go with 5.25's? Whats the story with the tweeters in the dash? Do I change those out? I'm planning to do this myself or with a friend, not taking it to a shop. Any help or comments would be appreciated, Peace out fellas!

the tweeters and the side speakers are together...right?

replace one, you gotta replace the other too

so you'll need speakers and tweeters

buy component speakers.

the fitment of aftermarket 6.5s are tough...(side note: I haven't actually done this but from my hours and hours of reading posts I have accumilated some knowledge about a variety of subjects on the CL lol) it is possible to mount them but ur going to need some spacers... so they say.

so best going with the 5.25's.

yes the tweeters and front speakers are linked... they are components. to take out the tweeter you just take a flat head screwdriver and pop wedge out the grill.. the tweeter is attached to the grill so that is how you take it off.

being curious after reading a thread about the tweeter and how to take it out and how it was linked with the front speaker I decided to take a look at the side speakers... pieces of paper shit lol anyway just pull off those grills. not sure if you have to take the door of but 90% sure you have to... and directions for that can be found under the guy who made the directions for wrappingyour woodgrain in leather.

hope that helps a bit.

why do you need to replace both at the same time? i replaced my front speakers with 5.25's, haven't had any problems...what happens if you only replace one of the two components?
