Front Grill (Removal)

I went and found the grill stuff at Home Depot but how exactly do I remove the grill? I saw the two screws that remove the silver stuff then there are like 4 black plastic bolt type looking things and then two things that you look like to squeeze together. Could someone please elaborate on exactly how to remove the grill. Also if you could please tell me how exactly you put the grill in.

the grill comes out extremely easy. it is 3 pieces. just take out all the screws and plastic things. i dont knwo exactly how to get the mesh in there right. im just gonna paint the stock factory plastic grill silver and the rest of that black plastic the same color as my car. i did do the bottom bumper which is real easy to do.

I did it awhile ago for the top grill. All you have to do is unscrew 4 black nut type things that hold the front grill in. Then you will find little plastic pieces that hold it in and you just pop them out and out it comes. Then take out all the screws around the crome trim piece that holds it on and the two screws behind the "A" and then 2 on each side of the "A" holding the horizontal crome bar on. Then you just but the gutter stuff across the grill and cut it some so all the screw holes and little plastic slot things will still fit in. Screw the grill in between the crome trim ring and the back piece (leave the "A" center piece out) securely not to tight so it wont break. Then trim the edges and get a new "A" if you want to put back in the middle and put the grill back in.

I pulled my grill out and it is all one piece. The chrome trim is part of the black plastic area. I assume all of the '98-'99 Cls are this way and that all of you have a '96-'97.

Can anyone that has done this grill conversion, please post pics. I really want to see it b/c I may go out buy a '96-'97 grill set.

Your sig says you have a 97. Did you go buy a 98-99 grill or something? Oh 97 was the first year for the CL
