Free turbo
Ahhh
My cousin had these in his basement and gave them to me.

The intercooler is a greddy imitation i guess and I still have to look at the turbo and figure out what kind it is... but I know it came off of a tiburon.
Uh, with a custom setup is there anyway this turbo could work with my F22? (assuming there is nothing wrong with the turbo.)

I'm heading to work, an I'm going to be very bored. So anyone's got info
my aim screen name is diamondsmif
thanks guys.
Oh just to clarify so you don't think I'm a theif, my cousin is charging me, eventually, but not too much if I found out that everything would work. And he did pay for it, it's been sitting in his basment for a year or so and he lost the original packaging, or at least that's what he's telling me and I'm going with.

it'll def fit with some custom piping, but would you want to go with that sized turbo in a turbo setup? It looks like it would start dying out up top, you could get some low end power with it maybe. If i went turbo on an F22 i'd go gt35r atleast.

where is....
gt35R? thats too excessive for f22, i don't think it'll be able to handle it without HEAVY block internals. i think the gt20s are decently suited for the f22 on low boost.

so what you're saying is your cousins a thief and he sold you a stolen part but you want to believe its not so you dont want to ask him what it is, in fear that he has absolutely no idea. Oh well, good luck with the piping on it.

I'd say in a month or two I'll have enough for the k-sport coil-overs which are phenomenally priced. Props, Cocoa.
After that I'm doing brakes, which are yet to be decided. I found some cross drilled brembo rotors for $120/pair. I wish they were slotted too for the look. Oh well.
As for calipers, them damn things is pricey.
Oh and I'll still have to buy a cheap winter beater this year too.
If all goes well with this setup when its complete my guess is i'll swap the little turbo for a gt25, would be niiiice.
I'll be searchin and workin, definitely keep you all posted.

Just drilled is better, and they don't warp as fast. Calipers aren't that expensive, do the legend caliper upgrade mentioned in the n00b guide, that's what I did. You can get a new set for about $200. I got a full set for $75

the pic looks like an 18g to me; what i'd think to be a near ideal size for a 2.2.
a gt35r would be snoring even in a built f22 -- usable powerband would be about 2K rpm at the top of the tach, even if bumped up to 7K; i mean it'd go like hell when it went, but i think it'd rather be making 30 psi for someone on a built 2jz.
could you snap some pics of the hotside?

the other side
(the rusty cast iron part). "hot," because that's where the exhaust gasses are cycled.
the exhaust flanges appear to be the same shape used on subarus -- i'd like to get a look at those and the portion inside where the exhaust turbine wheel/wastegate is.
thanks.

indeed, nice shooting. yeh, same flanges i suspected; that'll bolt right up to any subie. and a decent size turbine at that. not sure, might just be the light, but the turbine appears to have been clipped a bit? and it looks like the comp housing may have been rotated to accomodate whatever outlet path a tiburon desires. if you don't use it, i can try to show it a good time for you

But i mean, If i don't use it or sell it I'll keep ya posted, but I'm not planning on getting the setup in until like late this coming spring.
I gotta do suspension, brakes, buy a winter beater before anything else.

I'm just busting about taking it; I'm pretty good where I'm at
Frankensteining an 18g comp wheel into my current snail (my dream setup) would get me (and my trans) into way more trouble than I can afford...
I hear you on a beater; I caught myself actually craning my neck the other day to look at an mg on somebody's lawn
