'First car' story
I was telling my friends a little story on when I told my girlfriend that I got a car and thought it was hilarious. It was kinda funny and thought I would post it to humor you guys.
So, I took my girlfriend to the stock show grounds (yearly carnival kinda thing here in San Antonio) where she used to show her horses. I took her to the show ground stands and gave her a golden locket with our picture in it. Well, she loved it and we just holding each other at the stands talking and I told her the news about me just getting a car. Her smile quickly vanished and she seemed sad. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I guess you are going to be spending less time and money on me now." Btw, she is not a 'make you go broke' material girl at all. Anyway, I assured her that she was always going to be my #1 and that I will still see her all the time and that not the slightest bit will change. Now I sit here on a weekend that we could have seen a movie or something but instead now i'm looking at the front end of my car that it taken almost completely apart to black house my lights and install a SRI all weekend. Guess I was wrong.
At least we make use of that back seat. Now neither of them feel left out.
Cliff's Notes:
-- I got a car,
-- I promised my girl that I wasn't going to spend all my time and money on the car,
-- I end up spending most of my time and money on the car,
-- Now all three of us are happy.

Very touhcning story. Once again proves women are fuckin' nuts. She's the one gonna be expecting you to drive her everywhere now that you got your license. And the money thing? Aren't women working these days? we're not in the 50s anymore. Yet they still expect you to pay but save their own cash.

OMG chris that totally reminds me of a convo me and my girl had a few weeks ago.
i had JUST got my headers in and me and my girl were sitting around playing smash brothers. it was sweet cause my girl never plays video games with me. then when they came in all of a sudden shes all "how do you expect to have enough money for our wedding if you keep spending your money on shit for your car". then she paused the game and it was one of those "serious" talk moments. then shes all, "your 28..dont you think your a little too old to have a rice rocket. you should start saving so that we can have a future."....aww man totally broke my heart. but she was right. but its not going to stop me..hahaha.
moral of the story is, never let a girl that youve been serious with know that youd rather spend more money on your car than her. hahahhaha. (nah thats not true)

f that, my girl knows we're not getting married, too much financial responsibility. I just bought 150K house and dropped more than 20K on my car. She can pay her own shit. And yes I do hear about EVERY part I buy whether it's a $5 part or $800 suspension

I am so jealous of my buddy's wife - he installs a pulley and her comment after she drives it (shes a good driver) is "hmm, I really like the way it picks up now, you can feel it as soon as you get on it"
I want that in a woman dammit!

now this is an interesting thread...love it....Well I am old (36yrs) and married with 2 kids I get it some times...but then I tell her get me a new car and she shuts up as that would cost a monthly of close to $500....as this CL is paid off I can rice it up a bit and maintain it and get more out of it...not a bad deal over all...but still I get to hear it.....

girls can be rough on the car mods. I just installed a cold cathode light on my TL and my gf was supportive but just didnt seem to get why i just spent an hour pulling my trunk apart to change the color of the light. I just simply justified it with the fact that she should be happy i was spending time with my car and not some girls at a bar or something haha she is pretty cool with it but i dont think she understands why i spend so much on it (and i dumped way more in the CL) Granted she doesnt see what is wrong with dropped over a thousand on a purse....

My girl actually likes my car, but she can't tell certain cars that I won't mention apart from mine.
Example: "Hey, isn't that a CL?" "No, sweetie, that's a (insert car that will remain nameless here)." "Oh... well they look similar."
She does, however, want a '09 Red TSX, which in my book makes her a winner.

And don't get married. It gets 10x's worse. The common female saying "things will not change, its just a piece of paper" line is a load of shit.
