Fawk!!!

I went out to the lake today and had a great time wakeboarding, unfortunally my keys didnt have such a great time (unless they happen to like the bottom of the lake). I took off my watch but somehow forgot to put my keys in the lake house and must have lost them when i was being pulled up Sorry just had to vent, now i need to go buy a new key fob and get new keys for my school apt not to mention i had to have my mom bring me spare keys. Any ideas where to get a new fob cheaply and will the new acura key blanks work for me?

Sorry to hear about your keys!

I've seen several fobs on eBay over the past year. You may want to check there. The dealer charges wayyyyy too much for them! If you get one off of eBay, my "Fotki" site has a link to program it.

I dont believe the blanks for the new Acuras will work (if you're talking about the ones with the transponder built into them). I got a free key made by my dealer some months ago. They should have your key number on file.

Good Luck!

I once found an acura key that was similar to my key, so I re-cut it to match my key, and sure enough, it worked, ignition and the doors! Try going to a hardware store and having a normal honda key cut for your car and see if it works... something tells me our "immobilizer" system is a crock. The new acura keys should work, I have a key for the new accords for my car... but my car dosent have the "immobilizer" system the CL is suposed to have.

Dammit I hope so! That's one of the best anti-theft devices our cars have, and if it turns to be vaporware I would be sorely disappointed in Acura...
