Factory tint specs
The car doesn't have tint from the factory other than the windshield strip. Any tint on the vehicle was added afterwards.
Tint specifications (darkness limits) are decided by the state.
In FLorida, it's 35% on the front, and 20% on the rest I believe.

I think you are right on the FL state tint law, but I could swear the CL had a tinted windows option. I've seen so many that have the exact same tint color and darkness level.
Mine does not have tinted windows and I would like to get that done but also would like to make it as close to the factory tint as possible.

If you look out the windshield and compare it to what you see out of the side windows, the side windows look a tad darker. But it still probably lets in 75% if not more of the light. If you want that tinted look like SUV's and vans get you gotta go aftermarket, it never came from the factory.
Thanks for your help guys but...
I thought this was going to be easier but I guess I will have to do the research myself:
---------
1. Go to http://www.acura.com/preowned/pre_modlib_index.asp
2. Click on the "Model Library" link
3. Select CL model
4. Select 1999 year, click "Next step"
5. Click "Specs"
6. Scroll down to "Exterior Features" and read 4th item from the top in that section
-----------
7. Scroll back up
8. Click "Gallery"
9. Check out the pics
Do you now think there was a factory tint option? Check your facts before posting - don't make general statements based on a few examples you saw. I've seen quite a few CLs with the factory tint. In fact, I almost bought one a few days before I bought the one I have now.
Now, if anyone actually knows what the factory tint specs are please post here.
Thanks.

OK, we have yet another moron new to the board. Usually, when you insult people who try to help you and answer your questions, your stay here on the board is greatly reduced. So check yourself FOOL.
Anyway "Heat-rejecting, green-tinted solar glass" is not the same thing as tinted window film. If you were to describe it as a % of film (as in 5%, 20%, etc......) it would be 100% because it lets 100% of the light through, it just reduces the amout of solar radiation allowed from the outside and helps keep the temperature of the car more consistant of the inside, thus reducing the about of work performed by the climate control system in the car.
So, to answer your question of the percentage the factory tint specs, if you can see this :noob: or this :pfawk: then the answer would be 100%.
Why don't YOU do some fucking research before posting your
comments.

and I asked the same question a while ago I could have sworn that there was a factory tint but apparently not. mine is slightly mirror tinted.
^^ learn to use the edit button.
but what you are saying is that depending on the state it is NECESSARY to put on a tint at least 35% on side mirrors?? I don't think so.
But then again I never did get a clear answer... except there was no factory tint but almost every cl I see her has a light tint... yet to have seen a CL without any tint at all.
