I took some pictures of the custom exhaust work:

The piping is stainless from the flex section back. There is a small section of piping between the flex section and the V-band clamp on the downpipe that is not stainless or painted. Does anyone think it will rust up or I am fine to just leave it the way it is?

It's actually a 2.5" down pipe. It opens into 3" just before the v-band clamp. After that it's just 3" piping all the way to a magnaflow muffler. No cat or resonator. The muffler kinda looks like shit at the back but the sound and performance make up for it.

Very Nice Exhaust- I'd be interested in a vid to hear the exhaust. Curious to see if it has any of that Magnaflow signature sound. Probly not, being a 4 banger and all.

Having no cat is technically illegal here, but there is no emissions control so it's not a problem.

it's all going to color a tinge (even the stainless) from the hotside-back with the heat cycling, but yeah, might want to hit that banded peice with some 1200* paint, especially up north where you might see a good deal of salt.

Nope, turbos are the most efficient when there is the least back pressure.

this is true for WOT, but for "off boost" street driving youll need some back pressure dont you?

i think i read somewhere the SRT4's comes with a 2.25" exhaust

Which they get upgraded to 3in exhaust or even a straight 3in sidepipe like my boys srt4 that spits flames

Part throttle torque isn't a big deal in my opinion. I also think the turbine the exhaust gasses have to pass through in the turbo creates a large amount of back pressure itself.

On the subject of exhaust on turbocharged cars:
here is an F22 accord boosting 8 psi first with stock exhaust and cat. converter, then with a 3" exhaust

didnt know and exhaust made that much differance.

im gonna keep my cat and stock mid pipe tho... keeps the noise down which is very important to me.

Both runs were the same motor, same turbo set-up, both at 8psi.

untuned in the first run, tuned in the second that's the only thing that makes sense, even then that's stretching it

I never understood why people felt they need to lie about their cars. Seriously, just being honest helps soo much.

wow thats nice. Def a tuned vs. untuned run though, i can't fathom how you'd make 100 hp from just an exhaust. I mean they're important on turbo cars, but 100 HP is unheard of. When do we get to see your dyno Blenz?

Hey dude, I finally got all my ecu wiring tucked back in behind the passenger panel but I still got some tuning to do. Also, I think my O2 sensor is shot so I gotta pick up a new one tomorrow before I do anything.
As for the IACV, I think the 97 is already 2 wire

your lucky man... the 3 to 2 wire IACV converision is just too much hassel for me... im just gonna run the afc hack... my car runs great except for a rich idle and #13 CEL (baro sensor) But ive also heard that all larger injector swaps have rough idles no matter what management you use.

cant wait to see your car some time.

The afc hack will work alright but I wouldn't push it too hard without having any method to adjust the ignition timing. Do you still got plans to take it in to Toma's dyno or was that just if you set-up the chipped ecu?

My idle is pretty rough right now but I'm hoping I can sort it out. The car pulls decently once it's in boost but I really need to take some time to tune it better. If it's nice out again tomorrow I will take it out for some good street tuning.

The AFR is around 10 when I go into boost right now. I made some changes to the map to lean it out to around 12 but I haven't uploaded it to the ecu yet. It should run better around 12, as long as it doesn't lean out much more than that.

I'll get some videos up when I have it running really smoothly. Right now it's not quite where I want it with the tuning so everyone will just have to wait.
