F#&@#?#!&!#*!#*!#*k

my car is not meant to be lowered. it's just not god's plan for me to be any lower than stock second time trying to put springs on - the first time the car SHOP after trying said, "HELLS NO". the lower bolt on the strut has been assimilated- the bolt and bushing and sleeve are now one
second try today: many many many thanks to fellow A-CL memebers rick, bogdan, and dennis for their help in another attempt. -OH and to bogdan's homies john and steve

let's see: we started around uh noon and finished around 9:30 and managed to get out ONE bolt - we suck, no HONDA SUCKS!!!! - but if it weren't for bogdan and rick not giving up i would have been screwed!!! once again - thanks guys - it was a nice dream, but i'll beat you guys in the snow come winter with my 4X4 actually i'll get both bushings and figure something out
we were going to do springs, header, and possibly exhaust we never got past the first spring
however on a brighter note i'm still getting header and my man Dajuice hooked me up with exhaust - dood you need anything?
bogdan, rick - i couldn't tell any diff in the ride over bumps or anything
oh and i got some new tools
later
thanks again homies
bogdan shout at me tom

What a fucking trip! I swore I'd NEVER do a spring/strut install again!

I'm glad you all were finally able to get that FUCKING bolt out of the bushing!

It was good to get Dennis' exhaust installed. That went pretty easy.

I got my cross-member trimmed so now the downpipe doesn't vibrate against it.

Here's the bitch: Remember me complaining about my eye? I went to the ER @ 2:30am because I was jolted out of my sleep @ 2:00 am in pain.

Turned out I had a piece of metal imbedded in my cornea. I had this removed and went for a CAT scan to make sure there weren't any more metal pieces.

My eye is swollen 3/4 shut, and since I don't take narcotics, I'm in FUCKING pain! :'(

No track for me this morning!
Oh well! No pain, no gain!

Tom,

Well since I owe Bogdan 12 pack, you owe me a 12 pack. I like Molson Ice or I'll drink Bud Ice.

I am glad you got the exhaust at such a bargain, thank Shahab for that one.

I hope you get the car dropped, but Rick and I had the same issue while lowering my car, but my bolt wasn't that bad since we just sawed through the strut assembly to remove it.

See ya around and I still love those Rims!!!!

Next time, just torch the ends of the bolts off... (with a REAL torch, a cutting torch), get the old strut out of the way, and torch out the old bushing.... pound some new bushings (at like $12 a piece) in, set the new struts in and pop a new bolt it.

Believe me, it takes no time flat.

Maybe we should get a pool together for Rick's ER bills

Yeah with ur track record recently, i think so. Spring to the head, metal bit to the eye. Oh damn it doesn't sound nice at all. Who knows what is going to happen to the next one.

lol Rick when you get better you need to post pics of the damage like you did on the last spring install. We'll create a gallery section for it so people know the dangers of spring install

All that an impact wrench would have accomplished is to break off the head of the bolt that much quicker.

The shaft of the bolt was literally fused to the metal sheath of the bushing! This was the worst condition I've seen out of 4 CLs that I've helped lower.

What was also frustrating was that this install would have required NO spring compressing. We were taking the spring/strut units from Bogdan's CL and installing them into Stefan's CL (and vice/versa). Needless to say, we never got that far.

MY EYE HURTS LIKE A BITCH! I can't be in the sun. I tried driving yesterday, and almost wrecked (what a dumb ass I am)!

Stefan and Bogdan, Thanks for your concern, but don't worry! It was my decision to help out. I'll be fine!

BTW: I thought of taking a picture, but all it would have shown was my eye swollen shut.
