F#@$!!! Damn windows don't work!

Pull up to the drive thu to grab some food, window switch doesn't work. Passenger side doesn't work. Passenger side switch doesn't work. Pull up and park. Both fuses are good.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG!?!? I find it hard to believe BOTH motors failed together (at least my wallet hopes so). Anyone have a problem like this before?

my fuckin window doesn't work either...just my passenger window. I haven't been able to figure it out.

let me know if you find out the problem, I'll do the same.

I checked all my fuses and everything, they are all good.

the dealer checked my regulator and said it was working (and no the windows aren't locked).

dealer wouldn't check any further though because they said the aftermarket alarm/stereo caused the problem.

they said its a short somewhere.

i would check the realy switch and then try lubing up the rail or try to take off the door panel and see whats causing it

i would replace the fuses just in case, i mean it may not look blown but who knows

and for some odd reason do waht liloj said, check you windows locks and make sure they arent in the lock position

just in case ya know

What window locks? I thought only the passenger side switch could be locked? None of the switches work on either side - I find it hard to believe that something on both sides could have fried at the exact same time. Anyone have an electrical diagram?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Alrighty - can anyone elaborate on the window locking shit? I took the door panel off, everything looks in order back there. Damn tho - it's a bitch to work on this car. Stupid snap fasteners everywhere, goofy screws...

Also, where are the relays located?

ok first off the window lock is located on yer drivers side inner door handle...i says "on" on it...but it only locks the passenger side window....i guess so in case you dont want you passenger jumping out...???? ok dude, first off, check the pass side switch...see if it works...if so..i would have to make the semi-educated guess that your drivers side switch is fucked...if so replace the switch (i imagine dealer only...lifes a bitch) the switch should pull right out (at least according to the manual) and there is a connecter on it...disconnect the connecter (obviously) and replace (at only $200 im sure)

above all check the lock...if all this fails let me know and ill dig deeper into the dilema...oh and positivre please....thanks

Dude...have you not read any of my posts? NONE of the switches work on either side of the car.

Anyone know where/if there are relays in the power windows circuit?

Hello all.....new to this forum.

I have a 99 CL 3.0 with occasional power windows problems. By that I mean, occasionally they both stop working....always together, never just one side or the other.

This happens maybe once every week or two, and usually corrects itself after a few minutes, and then both windows are fine again for a while. Of course, this always seems to happen right when I want to use a drive-thru or something, and I've been lucky that the windows have never been caught down in the pouring rain.

Am I correct to assume that something may be loose inside the drivers-side door? I haven't tried to take off the door panel yet, since I've never done that, and wanted to get some opinions first. I'd rather avoid a dealer/garage if it may be something simple. All other electricals in the car are fine, and it has no mods (yet).

Anyone had a problem like this? Thanks in advance!!!

Exact same problem I'm having! Took the door panel off, played around in there - nothing. Gotta be something somewhere else. Relays maybe? I've never heard any click, but I don't really remember. Has to be something common to both sides - the motors have diff fuses under the hood so idk.

I know....that's what's driving me freakin' nuts! What/where is the component that is common to both windows, and why does that component work most of the time??

Could be relays.....any other possibilities?
