f*cked up my car
yeah me and my friends we installing my GReddy Headers and Pspec short shifter. we got the shifter in great. the headers are another story. the headers in our cars is a bitch, infact, everything about our car is a bitch. well heres the scoop. the got everything off except one bolt on the middle of the header where it splits into to peices. that bolt was mad seized. i think we wasted a whole can of wd-40 on it and it still wouldn't come off. my friends got frustrated so we unbolted the compressor and the front motor mount to see if we could slide that shit through the bottom. . . no luck. to make a long story short, we couldn't get the belt aligned and my car is sitting in a shop right now. the saddest thing, we didn't even get the header in. . . .the bolt is still stuck. man, i'm about the sell my car and by a 96 hatch!

yes its for the 4 banger...
WD40 i sgood for loosening rust, etc off bolts. however in a situation like this where a bolt is seized, WD40 will NOYT penitrate!!! Get a high flame torch and heat the bolts for a few minutes and then try... just keep repeating this... This is what I had to do on the bolts at the other end of the downpipe by the CAT... Good Luck Man!!!
and hey... dont sell it.. this can happen on any install on any car!!!

Try some Liquid Wrench, it's very good at penitrating rusted up stuff like this. I could not get the flywheel off our Deere to save my life (stupid ass starter quit...). I had the right flywheel puller tool, but it was just stuck. 5 mins and some LW later, it was off. Just get some of this stuff, spray it around the area (you can see it seep into the bolt), wait a couple mins, and the thing should come right off. WD-40 is a lubricating oil, it also displaces water pretty well. Liquid Wrench is just penitrating oil - this is what it's made for. Don't leave home with out a can! lol

i've worked on civics, integras and my cl and as far as i can tell the integra is the hardest to work on. At least I've had the most trouble with it. The civic is the easiest by far though.
Oh yeah, and all last school year I worked on my friends highly modified 93 RX7 right after he personally installed a single turbo setup. Lets just say the CL looks like a fuckin toddler holding a lollipop compared to the rex.

blurry-why are you wasting money on a header?? I thought you were going H22? Don't sell your car and get a hatch! I thought about shit like that, and it would be fun just since a bolt on h22 would get it close to 13's, but it's still just a civic! There everywhere and the inside is sooo shitty! They don't even make the 96+ hatches with POWER WINDOWS! Cause the're all dx or cx. 1st gens are soo pimp, and not many peoplehave modded ones at all.
Dude once you get the h22 you will be so happy! Plus you'll already have e/i on it because ours fit.

Serious, I would NOT get a civic.... Like ever, I despise having the same car as everyone else in this damn town. He's also right about the interior, I've been in more civics than I can count, and I was happiest OUT of them

TeamBlurry, you can't just break the bolt off to get the header off and then take the broken bolt out and replace it?

I've been around the industry for years now and have never heard someone say an accord is hard to work on. It may be a little bit harder then a civic (don't see where) but try working on something else, these cars don't get any simpilier

okay, take the short shifter for example. on a civic you take off one peice of the center consel. on the cl you have to take off the whole center consel plus the glove. an accord is not hard to work on. it's only the cl.

When I did my short shifter, I didnt take shit off but the ashtray pocket and the cup holder. I slipped my hand through the ashtray hole w/wrenches in hand and a light shinning down through the holes where the cup holder is. It was uncomfortable but it was on in twenty minutes. Taking the center consol out is such a bitch.

Yeah, I actually had it installed on my 94 Honda Accord coupe. Been there done that many times before. I've been all through my car a bunch of times. Wait till you see this five lug suspention I'm putting together. I've allways liked tinkering with Accords, Preludes and CL's. Most of my Friends have those damn rollerskate looking hatchbacks. Dont get me wrong, Civics are cool, but too abundant.
