Extra keyless entry remote question
hey mates
my spare key remote isnt working..replaced battery and the red light stays on etc...
if i were to buy another remote from another cl will it work with my car (after hitting the button 6x and all of that)??
or is there a specific thing to do to make it work with your car?
thanx

there should be a FCC ID number on the back of the remote which came w the car....as long as you order one w the same FCC ID you will be able to program it...try ebay i got a brand new one for $20 but the stealership will rape u like 80 bucks for it

you can buy one off of ebay. like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Acura...Q5fAccessories
then if you search there is a thread that talks about the sequence you have to do to get it to work on your car.

@asianspec...that ebay link says its for a TL not a CL...does it matter?
the remote pictured looks the same as mine though..
p.s...can somebody post a link to the sequence thread as mentioned??i cant find it..still gonna try looking till than though![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
p.s.s.....the FCC i.d's in both my remotes start with a "A"
does that mean i have to find another remote that starts with the same letter or something like that?

long story short I took the brains out of the original remote that came with the car and put them into a remote that I had from my old Rl. And somehow when I moved the original remote casing, that came with the car got lost, I have no clue what the fcc id is.
