Exhaust install question

Ok, I'm buying the Greddy Evo II exhaust for the 94-97 Accord EX. Anyways, I'm wondering if when I go to install it if I'll get problems from the shop because it's for an Accord not a CL. Do I need to tell them that it fits my car? Or will they know this. I just don't want them to not want to install it because of ignorance.

Thanks.

If they are worried about it being for an Accord, not a CL, just tell them it is for a CL. I'm sure they will understand. Or you can avoid the problem completely by not even saying it is for an Accord.

Sure, let me whip out my lift, my tools, and technical know-how. If you have a tutorial or something I can read, I'll definitely read it though.

I just used a jack. Air tools are VERY helpful though. It's pretty self explanetory. Just remove some bolts and hangers and put in new muffler. Too bad you don't live nearby, I'd help ya. How much is that shop charging you?

Probably in the $100-150 range...but I'd really consider doing it myself just so I can know how...I mean, if I mess up, I can just take it to the shop anyways, right?

Actually, I'd have to rent air tools because I live in Ohio, land of salt and the bolts are going to be on there so tight. And renting them from Autozone or something will cost as much as getting it installed, correct?

mind as well buy one. you could get a huge tanked compressor with an air tool set for around 200$ for sure.. you will use it forever, and ever, it has soooo many purposes, change wheels in under 10 minutes, tighten or loosen anything, grind down metal, blow water out from inside of mirrors, door cracks the list goes on and on... air tools makes any job take under half as long

I'll look into it. Definitely sounds useful.

And I'll post a video as soon as it's installed.

Dont' forget to post pics . Also, $100 is a lot just to bolt up an exhaust. If they had to cut and welt, then It would be more, but just to bolt it on, it should only be like 30 bucks.

becareful if you remove/install lug nuts with air tools, very easy to over tourque those bolts and cause shaking or damage

go to a speed shop where an hourly rate will be less like 50 or so and have them do it, they really cant mess it up unless they hate you

When I talked to a guy at the shop I go to he said that in order to put the accord exhaust on our cars it needed to be cut or extended a couple inches I cant remember which but he has done three of them and said he would charge me like 40-50 to install and about 30 for the cutting so that the tip sits right under the bumper. Hope that helps. Oh and when I asked him about the exhaust we talked about the greddy SPII and the apexi WS II. I hope that helps. Anyone should install it for you though if they want the money seems like a pretty easy job for a professional.

you know those little irrigation ditches they have on the sides of the road to channel water away from the road? park your car like this -----[===]---l l just pull in off of a driveway and straddle it. no lift required. unless its not a bolt on then youre SOL. thats how i did mine and i had plenty of room to work comfortably. ghetto i know but hey it worked.

I don't remember what they cut, but it made the stock exhaust useless and I had them pitch it.

Pics soon once I get a chance.
