Ever experience split second power loss?

so, not sure where to even start on this. It's only happened twice, so it''s really hard to diagnose.

When I accelerate from a stop and I give it about 60-70% throttle at about 3k rpms I just totally lose power for like a quarter second, adnthen it's back.

My intake will be growling a low rumble under load, then it will be totally silent for that second I lose power. I end up lurching forward, but since it's such a short amount of time my back is still touching the seat when the power comes back.

Any idea where to even start looking?

am I just losing traction for a moment? or is the engine not getting fuel/spark?

no CEL, so I don't even know where to look. I don't even know if it's a real problem.

any ideas or anybody experience this before?

ok, I just went out and tried to reproduce it, but it was raining. I now know for sure it's not traction loss, because I just get continual wheel hop for a little bit if I lose traction.

since it's only happened twice I can't tell if it revs up when it happens, especially since it's for so short of a time. I'm pretty sure it doesn't rev up, it's more just like total loss of engine power for a split second.

lol triple post.

It just happened to me right before I got home, was accelerating mildly about 20-30% throttle in second gear and the power just blipped off for a second, then did it again. probably twice within the same second.

The best way to explain it woudl be like if you are not pressing the throttle and you just tap (blip) it then release, it makes you jerk back for a second. It's just like that except opposite. power just disappears for a jerk then is back.

at first I was worried the trans might be slipping, but then I realised it wasn't happening during shifts, and it didn't rev up when it happened, in fact the revs drop about a hundred rpms before it comes back on.

also, if I hold the throttle at about 8% in neutral it will rev up to about 2k rpms, but even if I keep the throttle at teh exact same posisiton the rpms will bounce a little bit. It doesn't do it at idle though, idle is smooooooth.

possibly the fuel filter?
