Hey,
My 97 2.2CL engine seem to be getting rough in the past couple of days. I also noticed that the idle rpm is a bit higher than normal. Last month I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic and a friend told me that I will have to change oil initially after 1500 miles. I just drove 1000 miles and I checked the oil yesterday and it was somewhat dark and thick. So got an oil change yesterday thinking that it will fix the problem. But nope. I am not sure what else could be the problem. All I could see is my poor CL is trying hard to push itself through the traffic. Could there be any lubrication problem or my engine is dying? It has got only 85k on it and I got its timing belt changed at 80K.
Please share your wisdom.
Thanks!

is your car over heating?
stick or auto?
switching to synthetic shouldnt be a dramatic difference as u explain it.. something else should be wrong..
unless! synthetic is actually bringing out the raw NA power from your engine.. haha
eh.. im just joking..

If your TB was the problem, your shit wouldn't be running. Is your CEL coming on? You could have a failing IMAP or IAC sensor issue. If you just had it serviced, check and make sure you do not have a disconnected sensor or a vacume line that has come loose or been left unattatched. Now if the engine is weeerrrrriiinng when it is idling, it could be that the TB is touching the cover, but I highly doubt that is the case.
Good luck bro.
